Types of Computers

From desktops to laptops, tablets to handhelds, these are the most popular types of computers:

Desktop Computers
A mainstay in nearly every cubicle of every office- and that includes home offices as well- today, Desktop Computers are more affordable and more common, and are distinguished by the term "desktop" from other portable models.

Laptop Computers
Also called Notebook Computers, Laptops are mobile computers. Although they are usually less powerful than Desktop Computers, their mobile capabilities make them more expensive. Laptops usually feature built-in LCDs (liquid crystal displays).

Tablet PCs
Gaining popularity quickly, Tablet PCs are notebook-shaped computers that have a touch screen, offering its users the capability of writing on the screen with a stylus, negating the need for a keyboard or mouse.

PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants)
Also known as Handhelds, PDAs are a modern take on personal organizers. Offering more mobility than a laptop or tablet, most PDAs can synchronize data with a desktop computer easily.
