NAME

Born in the late 1980s, the “i” family of products has become popular and has been recorded with a far-reaching cultural impact, this includes the iPod. iPod is referred as player and technology by the Apple Computer.

HISTORY

It all started when Tony Fadell had difficulty seeking sponsor for a MP3 player he had designed. The Apple Company was the one who hired him to bring his concept to the market. Together with his team, Tony developed the first two generations of the device. Apple Computer originally released iPod as a Mac-Compatible product, and later added Windows compatibility. Researches state that iPod has served as a sort of “Gateway Drug” or had a “Halo Effect” because non-Apple gear users are persuaded to switch to other Apple products; thus, making iPod the most dominant digital music player in the United States.
