In the 1980s, text-based adventure games have diminished to a niche market. Now, some developers think portable devices such as the iPod and cellphones might breathe new life into the genre – Jacob Ogles.

The first iPod commercial was launch in November 2001 featuring the tag line “1000 Songs in your Pocket”. This can still be viewed on Apple’s Website .

Fortune magazine stated that Apple has marketed over fifteen million iPods that make them currently dominate the digital audio player market, and frequently the number one in the best-seller lists.
