With the MP3 format taking the prize for convenience and compression
when it comes to music, MP3 players are now a portable-entertainment
staple. They let you carry hours of music everywhere you go.
What is an MP3 player?
This is a small device that allows for the playback
of MP3 (MPEG1 Level 3) files stored in a data volume, more commonly
on a hard drive. The Apple iPod is a great example of such a
device that utilizes a small footprint hard drive to store and
playback music. Other consumer electronics makers have other
MP3 players that use flash memory and sometimes CD-R/RW discs
burned with MP3 music files in them.
