Memory

Perhaps the most important factor to consider. Memory varies enormously depending on model and type. Most palmtops though can be upgraded to provide greater memory. It can vary from 2MB to 32MB RAM memory. Most palmtops can store hundreds of contacts, numbers, email addresses and many other types of information.

Memory Cards

1. Compact Flash – also called cf-card and can have a size of 1 gigabyte. Type I has a height of 3,3mm and Type II 5,5mm which has a bigger capacity.
2. Secure Digital – also called sd-card. This type of card is smaller than the cf-card and is now a starting to be a standard among palmtops.
3. Multi-Media Card – mmc-card is the older version of the sd-card. You can use mm-card in sd-slots of palmtops. This can only be used as a memory card.
4. Memory Stick – originally designed by Sony and is currently supported on their palmtops. It is typically used for storage.
