Types of Printers

Inkjet

These make up the bulk of the modern day small office and household printers. The name pretty much describes how they operate: printing on to paper using tiny jets of ink. Unlike their noisy counterparts, Ink from small tanks, or cartridges are fed into a print head equipped with a series of nozzles or jets that spray the paper with ink. Image resolution began to improve and printers became quieter. These printers are useful for general text and graphics applications.

A word of caution though: When purchasing an ink jet printer, one may be easily tempted to part with hard earned cash as most ink jets in the market are cheaply priced. Buyers beware. Do check for the price of the required consumables, or ink cartridges. Some very low priced printers require cartridges that cost a pretty penny, and the whole thing may turn out to be not as cheap as you thought it was.
