Types of Printers

Bubble Jet

Recent innovations and improvements in the inkjet design have vastly improved the speed and quality of the printouts. One such innovation is the bubble jet. Technically similar to the inkjet, the bubble jet differs in that its nozzles are heated, which in turn vaporizes the ink forming a bubble, which is then sprayed onto the paper. This vastly improves the detail and resolution of the resulting printout.

Thermal Wax

Extremely high end printing became available with the advent of the Thermal Wax Printers. Built on the principle of the dot matrix printer, these printers produce high resolution images for purposes of publishing. A spool of print standard CMYK colored ribbon saturated in wax is fed in front of a print head. There, small heated needles are pushed forward melting the wax and embedding the color onto the paper. These printers are very expensive and should be considered only if high resolution printouts are the utmost priority.
